Android 8.0 Oreo is already here, although it may not be on your phone, or the next, or none. We are only at the beginning and neither Nexus nor Google Pixel still have the version to download.

Versions always take a long time to run all Android devices, or rather some Android devices. Not all phones and tablets will be upgraded, though probably the latest models. Over time, we will know in which models the brands will be available Android 8.0 Oreo

Android 8.0 Oreo for Nexus and Pixel coming soon. Before, AOSP

AOSP, Android Open Source Project is pure Android. It's the code of everything that is required for Android to work, of course, without any Google applications or services. Not even Google Play. It is not a version that you can download on any cell phone, but it is the code ready for any developer or person who knows the subject to examine it and modify it, since Android is open source.

Google has not postponed announcing from its blog, next to the news of this version, that the Android 8.0 Oreo AOSP code will be available today. It will be as immediate as Nexus and Google Pixel will have to wait.

Nexus and Google Pixel are already starting to update [ACTUALIZACION]

We do not know anything else, because we do not know anything about any manufacturer. We only know from Google that Android 8.0 for Nexus and Google Pixel will be available "soon". How early? Maybe this week, or maybe the next or the next … Although it's weird going to a month waiting for Google's own devices.

All devices that have access to the trial versions may have the new version. Then we will have Android 8.0 Oreo for Nexus 6, Nexus 6P, Nexus Player (Android TV), Pixel C and Pixel Nexus 6, Google's first phablet, will not be updated.

UPDATE: Some users of Developer Preview begin receiving the official update. Similarly, Google has released the factory images so that users can install the update manually. We left a tutorial on how to install the factory images as well.

Which phones will upgrade

With the rest of the manufacturers, we will start writing a new page in the extensive fragmentation book. Although Android 8.0 Oreo includes Project Treble your improvements we will not be able to see them in action until the next update, so we will have to wait.

I expect little, since Google announced that it worked with Essential, General Mobile, HMD Global (Nokia), Huawei, HTC, Kyocera, LG, Motorola, Samsung, Sharp and Sony Updates will arrive ASAP. And yes, it is already known that devices that have been upgraded to a large version twice (for example, those that were sold with Android 5.0 Lollipop, upgraded to Android 6.0 Marshmallow and Android 7.0 Nougat maximum) will no longer receive this new version .
