Those who practice swimming certainly know Speedo. This is one of the most outstanding brands of sportswear and accessories of this sport, which has not missed the opportunity to innovate using technology.
When Samsung introduced its Samsung Gear Fit 2 Pro and Samsung Gear Sport there was a last minute surprise. Samsung and Speedo have teamed up to launch Speedo On, an application that will arrive pre-installed on Samsung sports watches, but is also available on Google Play.
Samsung has partnered with Speedo to launch a swimming application for their new devices that will allow us to quantify this sport.
Taking advantage of the fact that we are reviewing Samsung Gear Fit 2 Pro, we went to the pool to test the application of Speedo on the watch as well as the application of the phone. We tell you about our experience.
Speedo On: The application to accompany your exercises
We have tested the application for Speedo swimmers, and this has been our experience "src =" https://elandroidelibre.elespanol.com/ wp-content / uploads / 2017/10 / application-swimmers-4.jpg "alt =" We tested the application for Speedo swimmers, and this has been our experience
Speedo On is an application compatible with Android phones and PCs through its web application. It is an application that allows us to follow our training, whether in the pool or on the beach.
The application can analyze our performance if we use a smart watch from Samsung.
Although it is an application that works best with Samsung, it does not mean that it is mandatory to have it, although the application misses many points.
Do not configure your phone in the pool will not be necessary. Just do your traditional watch when you go to train and how long it takes time to distance yourself. Once the training is completed, go to your mobile and you can add your data manually. We can also synchronize Speedo On with the applications of Garmit Connect and Misfit .
Integration with Samsung Gear Fit 2 Pro
On the other hand, we will tell you our experience using the Samsung Gear Fit 2 Pro. This smart band; such as the Samsung Gear Sport; has the Speedo On application pre-installed .
The application is independent of the phone and you do not need to have the mobile phone nearby for it to work . In fact, in my swimming training I left my cell phone at home every day. Gear Fit 2 Pro, in turn, saves training results and loads them on the platform when reconnected to the phone.
The application includes a widget for the clock that allows us to automatically start a new training record in which our results will be counted, although with the quick start we will not be able to customize the goals.
When you open the application, we can establish the measurements of the pool in which we are going to swim. Once configured, we can choose target distance, time or just one test time mode.
Once we start the training, the bracelet will automatically switch to "water mode" by turning off the option to connect the screen with the motion sensor as well as the touch screen (by holding down the lower button, we can disable it.)
At the end of the training, we can see a summary showing the intensity of our training graphically, in addition to the distance, time, average time we take in 100 meters and efficiency of our stroke. These two facts are very interesting because they will allow us to know our progress over time.
Speedo On is a free and non-advertising application. However, it is an application that supports the subscription model premium improving our user experience.
How much does this service cost? In Spain there are 7.99 euros per month, or 49.99 in counterpart. Paying this fee, the application gives us the following:
- In-depth analysis of our training
- Contents of interest
- Advanced Training Plans
- Challenges premium .
The truth is that they are advantages for those who practice swimming frequently, but we believe it is a signature model that only the most enthusiastic swimmers can enjoy. If, like me, you practice swimming to relax, or simply want to keep a basic follow-up, the free version will be more than enough for your use.
Requires Android 4.4 and higher
